i made this pasta from smitten kitchen (the pictures are hers, not mine) on wednesday and though it was a hit on wednesday night, i have to say that i enjoyed it even more leftover for lunch yesterday.
if you haven’t been to this delightful food blog, and you love to cook or you just love great pictures of good food, you should definitely check it out. i spent hours there this week looking for new inspiration for this slower in produce, hotter than heck, late august season. there is still great food to be made, even if the blackberries at the river market are long gone (but not forgotten). i am going to try this tomorrow, because i noticed at the river market last week that the bigger squash varieties are in.
and here’s the link to the pasta primavera recipe. i did saute my onions and used roasted red peppers, just because i prefer them to raw ones. also i added buffalo mozzarella chunks, because i had it around and you just can’t ever have too much fresh moz in the summertime. (or anytime?)

Isn’t today such a great break from the awful heat. I smiled when I went outside and felt the cooler air, I know you are enjoying it as much as me.

Okay, after the first comment I went over to Smitten Kitchen, I haven’t looked in a week or so. Are you seriously able to look at that? The chocolate cake pictures almost made me cry. So beautiful, so yummy!

the cool air this morning was so perfect! it was even pleasant on our friday morning river ride. and simon did his first ever ride in the trailer. so great.
and yes…i am lusting over all the food. in fact, i had decided after our ride that we needed bread from boulevard for dinner and that i could have 1/3 of a chocolate croissant (share with tai and cole), but the lady two people in front of us bought the last one. i was hating and appreciating her all in the same moment. ergh.

when you posted this recipe for pasta primevera salad eons ago i made a mental note to cook it. i finally got around to it last night and it was fabulous – even if the tomatoes were a bit dreary compared to the summer ones.
