i’m off to dallas tomorrow. to visit my friend. who’s not so very far away, remember? i’m still not packed, but i only have to pack for three. (simon, mary polly and me) how hard can that be? watch out for those boys. they are sure to be trouble while the mama is away. xbox a plenty, throwing the football inside the house and who knows what else?
before i leave, i have to tell you how very very excited i am about this! a new one! we love these at our house. i am going to get it super soon, even if it’s not quite the season. also i ordered this today, because anna says it has everything we’re looking for. i don’t even know what that means exactly, but since i’m dieting, it seemed like a good time to buy a new baking cookbook. really…why not?

I find it amusing that the baking book’s reviewer considers these “homey desserts” while referring to such items as “a divine dacquoise filled with fluffy white chocolate ganache and roasted pineapple.” (or maybe i grew up in the wrong home.)
nevertheless, i would love to peruse your copy. and if you haven’t had a chance to look at martha’s wonderful “baking handbook,” you’re welcome to borrow mine. i also have “the complete book of cookies” and a few other baking books you might be interested in. i got my incredible carrot cake recipe from one of them.
i, too, would love to know what anna meant by “everything we’re looking for.” when is she going to update her blog?!
