jerusalem started a week of posting in color last week sometime and it didn’t cross my mind to join in the fun until today, when the color was green.
i love green. it’s my favorite. in just about any shade. our painter looked at me funny when i gave him the grass green color i wanted for our playroom. but i love it.
this year our entire family will be wearing starbucks green for easter, in many different versions. dressing up (and alike) for easter is one of those beautiful southern traditions that i embrace every year with joy. the heralding of spring with pastels and happy frills. new life. the resurrection acted out everywhere. everything turning green and popping leaves. large glassy rhododendron leaves that reflect the sunlight are the usual setting for our easter gathering. my parents’ front yard. two years ago, and many years to come.
we were in lime green two years ago, and even though i was pregnant (i think simon must have been born later that day in fact), i was happy to be in green.
so, i say with dolly.
get out your feathers, your patent leathers.
your beads and buckles and bows.
’cause there’s no blue monday in your sunday clothes.

what great pictures. hard to believe that was 2 years ago and I didn’t even know you yet really… I love all the green! I think I might have to adopt your “dressing all in one color” tradition – of course my one color will prob be pink. lol.

in that case, Jerusalem, Taido could just come over and be one of the Greers. Cracking me up how he’s the standout.
Also cracking me up? The fact that if you hadn’t said you were prego, I wouldn’t have noticed! Nice camouflaging of the belly, miss…
love those pics, love that tradition – YIKES! We need Easter clothes!

hey gals, if you need pink, i have you covered. i mean, you’ll have to get things for your boys, but you can raid my closet for some pink. apparently, three years ago i wanted to look like an easter egg. i’m not sure what came over me.
…and someone could borrow that shirt from taido.

now that i read my comment again, i think it looks like i meant, “which color should i dress my dogs in…” when i really meant, should i dress up my dogs. i already know the answer to that, no matter what anyone else says. NO.
i was just trying to be part of the conversation…
